Heinrich Walther (doctor)

Heinrich Walther (born April 12, 1866 in Groß-Gerau , † July 28, 1950 in Gießen ) was a German gynecologist .

Life

Heinrich Walther took to the put-away Abitur a study of medicine at the University of Giessen in which he in 1890 with the acquisition of the academic degree of Dr. med. completed. In the same year he took up an assistant position with Hermann Löhlein at the university gynecological clinic there, from 1892 he went on scientific trips before settling as a gynecologist in Darmstadt .

After his habilitation in obstetrics and gynecology in Gießen in 1894, he taught as a midwifery teacher at the women's clinic. In 1899 he received the second professorship for gynecology in Giessen as an associate professor , which he held until his retirement in 1933.

Heinrich Walther, who was appointed medical advisor in 1912 and was particularly concerned with the reorganization of midwifery, was co-editor of the “Journal for the entire midwifery” and the “General Midwife Newspaper” .
