Heinrich Widmayer

Heinrich Widmayer (born April 5, 1891 in Wiener Neustadt , † May 17, 1977 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAP ). Widmayer was a member of the Lower Austria state parliament from 1932 to 1934 , a member of the provisional provincial committee in 1945 and a member of the National Council from 1945 to 1956 .

After attending primary school, Widmayer completed an apprenticeship as a metal lathe operator. He then went on a hike and worked for the Siemens Schuckert-Werke in Vienna- Leopoldau . Between 1929 and 1934 Widmayer worked as the state secretary of the Austrian Association of Agricultural and Forestry Workers for Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, and between 1928 and 1930 and between 1934 and 1938 he was mayor of Deutsch-Wagram . Widmayer represented the SDAP between May 21, 1932 and February 16, 1934 in the state parliament and lost his political offices when the SDAP was banned. Between 1934 and 1944 Widmayer was imprisoned a total of seven times and deported to the Wöllersdorf detention center and the Theresienstadt concentration camp .

After the Second World War, Widmayer was a member of the provisional state committee between July 17, 1945 and December 12, 1945. He was then from December 19, 1945 to June 8, 1956 a member of the National Council.

He was buried in Vienna at the Groß-Jedlersdorfer Friedhof (group 2L, row 11, number 1).
