Heinrich Wieland (officer)
Heinrich Wieland (born February 7, 1822 in Basel , † April 3, 1894 there ) was a Swiss officer .
Life
Heinrich Wieland grew up in the Basel region , his father August Heinrich Wieland died in 1833 as a major in the city artillery during the battle of the Hülftenschanz . His younger brother was the later chief instructor of the infantry Hans Wieland .
Wieland completed the recruiting school in the Klingenthal barracks , in 1846 he became a lieutenant, during the uprisings in Baden he spied for two years for Basel, in 1850 he was recruited into the Neapolitan service. After his return to Switzerland, he became a colonel in 1866, in 1890 in command of the VIII Division and in 1891 in command of the IV Corps .
