Heinrich Wohlmeyer (master builder)

Heinrich Wohlmeyer (* 1855 , † 1929 ) was an Austrian architect and builder in St. Pölten .

Life

Heinrich's grandfather, Johann Wohlmeyer, was a master mason in Lilienfeld around 1800. His father, city and cathedral master builder Josef Wohlmeyer (1815–1884), founded a construction company in 1840. Heinrich took over this company after the death of his father and ran it until his own death. Heinrich had 12 siblings, including Johann Wohlmeyer , also a master builder and member of the Reichsrat, and Wilhelm Wohlmeyer (1864–1945), an architect working in Vienna. His sister, Franziska (1859–1941), married a Julius Peter Raab (1854–1925). This marriage resulted in Julius Raab , among others , who worked as a master builder in the company and was Austrian Chancellor from 1953 to 1961. His nephew of the same name (Heinrich jun., 1897–1951) was also an architect.
