Heinrich Zmoll (* 1843 in Piesting , Lower Austria , † May 1919 in Hainfeld , Lower Austria) was grocer and 1879-1905 Mayor of the market Hainfeld in Lower Austria. As chairman of the Beautification Association he founded in 1876, which among other things produced buildings such as the Kaiserstiege and the Schubert Fountain, Zmoll made a decisive contribution to Hainfeld's development of the popular summer resort at the end of the 19th century .

Zmoll attended a one-class elementary school in Piesting and later in Wiener Neustadt several classes of the secondary school. In St. Veit an der Triesting, Zmoll completed an apprenticeship in the trade at JG Meyer, before he came to Hainfeld in 1864 and opened a general store. In 1865 he was elected to the municipal council, to which he belonged until 1905. In 1879 Zmoll succeeded Josef Ossberger jun. elected 4th mayor of Hainfeld since the office was introduced in 1850.

Mayor Heinrich Zmoll was one of the most influential people of the place in the history of Hainfeld during his twenty-six year tenure . Numerous initiatives were initiated by him, as well as important key events, such as B. the unification congress of the Social Democratic Workers' Party of Austria from December 30, 1888 to January 1, 1889 under the aegis of Victor Adler . In this regard, the then Lilienfeld district captain , Leopold Graf von Auersperg, had ordered mayor Zmoll - despite previous positive confirmations and preliminary talks with Adler - on behalf of the Lieutenancy of Lower Austria to prevent the 80 delegates and 25 guests of the planned congress from finding accommodation in the village . For this reason, Zmoll had z. B. instructed the host of the inn "Zum Goldenen Löwen" (destroyed 1945), Zehetner, to take back the lunch and dinner for three days for 60-80 people and the promised event room that had already been ordered by Adler in advance and to cancel it so that the Enjoyed no accommodation. In addition, Zmoll feared unrest " at Christmas of all times " if the unification congress should take place. In the end, Adler and Anton Stacherl were able to persuade Zehetner to rent his ballroom to them, and the congress to unite the Austrian workers could take place.

Heinrich Zmoll died in 1919 at the age of 76, leaving behind a wife.

Furthermore, as chairman of the local school board in 1901, he ensured that the teaching material collection was enlarged and, in addition to enlargements of the school building, had a new gymnasium built. The founding of a boys' band and the later music club were also due to Zmoll, whose initiatives and projects soon brought summer tourism to the market of 300–400 summer guests a year. After his time as mayor, Zmoll was chairman of the savings bank council. In this position he bought the Lebzelter houses in 1906 and had them demolished in favor of the construction of a new Heimatstil- Sparkasse and town hall building, in which the premises of the municipality are still located at Hauptstraße 5 today.
