Heinrich vom Kolke

Heinrich vom Kolke (born September 28, 1821 in Steele ; † November 2, 1856 ) was a German physicist and teacher .

Life

His parents were Guilelmo vom Kolke and Sophia Tiemann (1796–1878) in Steele . He received his school leaving certificate at the Royal High School in Essen and then studied mathematics and natural sciences in Bonn . After completing his studies, in 1852 he was appointed to teach mathematics, physics and chemistry at the higher secondary school in Aachen , which later became the Couvengymnasium .

research

In 1848 he wrote his dissertation De nova magnetismi intensitatem metiendi methodo ac de rebus quibusdam hac methodo inventis on the determination of the load-bearing capacity of magnets .

His research and measurements were considered a leader in determining the intensity of magnetism . He published his research in the Annalen der Physik . However, his methods were not undisputed in science.
