Heinrich von Alinghoven (called Laer ) (also Laar ) (* 1400 ; † 1491 in Bruges ) was Marshal of Westphalia and envoy to Burgundy .

Life

He came from the von Laer (Lare) family, allegedly originally from France, based near Menden , who also called themselves Alinghoven after another property. He was married three times. For the first time he married Anna von Brabeck in 1427. In the second marriage he married Lea von Hüchtenbrock in 1450 and in the third marriage Maria von Wachtendonck. A number of children grew out of marriages.

In 1427 he became Drost of the Menden office . Archbishop Dietrich II von Moers appointed him Marshal of Westphalia in 1441 and thus his deputy as sovereign. He only held this office for a few years. In 1451 the electors of Mainz , Cologne and Trier sent him to the court of Philip of Burgundy . His alleged acceptance into the Order of the Golden Fleece is not documented. During this time, he also collected documents about his family's French past and continued the genealogy to his present. He died at an old age in Bruges.
