Heinz-Dieter Klink

Heinz-Dieter Klink (born November 2, 1944 in Thorn , German Reich , today Toruń , Poland ) is an SPD politician from the Ruhr area . Until July 31, 2011 he was managing director of the Ruhr Regional Association (RVR).

Life

After attending elementary school in Solingen , Klink went to a grammar school in Witten and graduated from high school there in 1964. After completing his military service, he began his law studies at the Ruhr University in Bochum , which he completed in February 1975 with the 2nd state examination. In 1969 he joined the SPD while studying.

From 1975 Klink worked as a legal advisor in the Gelsenkirchen city ​​administration . From 1978 he headed the main office of the city administration and in 1983 became chief city legal director. In January 1986 Klink became treasurer and alderman for the city of Dorsten with responsibilities in the areas of finance, public order and waste management. In 1997 he was also responsible for the areas of human resources, organization and technology-supported information processing (TUIV). From 2003, Klink was also the first alderman responsible for planning and construction. Since 1991 he has been managing director of the Entwicklungsgesellschaft Wulfen mbH (see Neue Stadt Wulfen ) and since 1999 a member of the city council of Gelsenkirchen. At the beginning of 2005 Klink resigned from these offices and became managing director (regional director) of the Ruhr Regional Association (RVR) on March 1, 2005 . He retired on August 1, 2011.

Klink is married, has two daughters and lives in Gelsenkirchen-Buer .
