history

Family tree of the glass masters

In 1523 the first glass master with the name Hans Hein (t) z was mentioned in a document in Thuringia. The company Heinz-Glas was founded in 1622, when his descendant Hans Hein (t) z the Elder founded the glassworks and the town of Piesau (Thuringia). Heinz-Glas is still owned by the Heinz family today. Carl-August Heinz is President of the Heinz Group. The 12th generation of the daughter Carletta has been with the company since December 2013. After studying at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, she co-founded City Hunters GbR, where she was responsible for financial accounting, controlling, taxes and payroll accounting until the end of 2013.

At the start, Carletta Steiner-Heinz was significantly involved in the modernization of the company logo and the introduction of a global corporate identity and subsequently devoted herself to sustainability and controlling . She is the main shareholder and was CEO from 2017 to 2018.

In 2018, Heinz-Glas took over the perfume and cosmetic packaging division from the French world market leader for glass refinement, Saverglass .
