Live and act

The merchant's son followed his father's example and initially received a commercial training. He then went to work for the Berliner Filmkredit-Bank GmbH. There it was up to Ewert to deal primarily with questions of film financing. In this way, he quickly made contact with the cinema industry.

In 1934 Ewert started there as a production assistant, and in July 1935 he was appointed production manager by Deka-Film. At the beginning of 1943, Wien-Film took him over for a leading position (supervisory control of the films produced there), and in the spring of 1944, Heinz-Joachim Ewert succeeded Erich von Neusser in his position as deputy head of production at Wien-Film.

After the war, Ewert worked for various German and Austrian companies. Only the anti-war film Children, Mothers and a General, made by Erich Pommer , deserves attention .
