Heinz Bake

Heinz Bake (born March 14, 1928 in Süplingen ) is a former German soccer player. For SG EHW / BSG Stahl Thale , he played 18 games (four goals) in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football , between 1950 and 1954 . In 1950 he was with the SG EHW GDR Cup winner.

Athletic career

At the age of 22, Heinz Bake and the SG Eisenhüttenwerk Thale sports association became soccer champions of Saxony-Anhalt in 1950 . Four months later, he and his team won the GDR soccer cup as a right defender with a 4-0 victory over the company sports community (BSG) KWU Erfurt . Previously, the SG Eisenhüttenwerk had qualified in a promotion round for the GDR league season 1950/51. The team started with Bake as a defender. He was used in the first league game and also played the following three point games. After that, he was only called up sporadically and by the end of the season came to a total of 34 games only on eleven missions in which he scored four goals. In the following three seasons, in which the SG EWW was converted into the BSG Stahl, Bake was only a supplementary player and was only used in seven league games during this time. On the 25th day of the 1953/54 season he played his last game in the league and then ended his career in higher-class football.
