Heinz Cornel

Heinz Cornel (* 1953 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German criminologist and educationalist .

Life

Cornel studied law , education and social sciences at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main from 1972 to 1976 . In 1980 he received his doctorate with a thesis on The Development of Juvenile Prisons in the Department of Philosophy and in the same year passed his 1st state examination in law. From 1981 to 1985 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Sociotherapy and Criminal Sociology in Frankfurt. Cornel taught from 1984 to 1988 at the law faculties of the University of Frankfurt, in the field of social work at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt . Then he received in 1988 the reputation of the Alice Salomon Hochschule Berlin as professor of juvenile law , criminal law and criminology. Cornel is co-editor of the journal Neue Kriminalpolitik .
