Heinz Glüsing (born September 11, 1920 in Hamburg as Karl-Heinz Glüsing ; † May 2013 ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

After training as a chimney sweep and five years of military service in the naval artillery , he began his artistic training at the College of Fine Arts (from 1946 to 1950 and from 1954 to 1956). Glüsing has been a freelance artist since 1956. From 1966 to 1979 he was a lecturer in free design at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences .

The artist's pictures are primarily created under the direct impression of nature. For him, painting is a spontaneous grasping of the motif in its entirety of color, shape and mood. From this moment of a reality experienced with open senses, his often small-format pictures in differentiated and delicate nuances emerge in gestural and free painting style. Heinz Glüsing masters the rare ability of precise and intelligent vision. A vision that takes the shortest path in his pictures from the moment experienced to the intuitive brushstroke.

He made numerous trips through China , Tibet , Ladakh and all of Europe . Since 1964 there have been few solo exhibitions, mainly in Germany, Sweden and Belgium.

Heinz Glüsing was an honorary member of the BBK Hamburg and was awarded the Biermann-Ratjen Medal of the Hanseatic City of Hamburg in 2010 for his life's work . Until his death in May 2013 he lived and worked as a freelance artist in his hometown Hamburg .
