Heinz Isterheil

Heinz Isterheil (* as Heinz Erich Israel May 7, 1914 in Dresden ; † January 20, 1990 in Magdeburg ) was a German actor and theater director .

Life

In Meiningen he attended the Bernhardinum high school. He then studied theater studies at the universities of Tübingen, Munich, Jena and Cologne . In 1936 he had his surname Israel traced back to the " documented old form 'Isterheil' ". After the Second World War he was director in Staßfurt and from 1952 to 1957 director in Frankfurt (Oder) . Isterheil was then general director of the municipal theaters in Magdeburg until 1968 .

Isterheil worked in numerous DEFA productions . Films like Der Hauptmann von Köln or Seilergasse 8 made him famous. In television roles he was seen in the Temple of Satan and The Bomb, among others.
