Heinz Kükelhaus

Heinz Kükelhaus (born February 12, 1902 in Essen , † May 3, 1946 in Bad Berka , Thuringia ) was a German travel journalist , novelist and adventurer .

Life

Heinz Kükelhaus grew up as the second of five children with his brother Hugo , sisters Freya and Hilde and their descendant Hermann in Essen. His father was a master carpenter and chairman of the Essen carpenters association.

In his novels he first processed impressions and experiences of his own life as a vagabond and adventurer, which led him through Europe and North Africa - there also in the Foreign Legion . Later he created adventures in North America and the South Seas from his imagination ( Thomas, the pearl fisherman ); the latter is considered to be his greatest work.
