Heinz Kalenborn

Heinz Kalenborn (born August 21, 1927 in Düsseldorf ) is a German architect .

After an apprenticeship as a draftsman , he completed a degree in architecture from 1949 to 1953 at the Technical University of Stuttgart , which he completed with the main diploma under Rolf Gutbier. From 1953 to 1955 he was a research assistant at Gutbier at the Technical University of Stuttgart.

In 1955 he opened his own architecture office in Düsseldorf; He worked in various working groups and law firms , such as Dansard Hellenkamp Kalenborn (from 1966), Dansard Kalenborn and Partners (1972), Kalenborn + Jetel Architects BDA (1988), Kalenborn + Randerath Architects BDA BDB (1999–2003) and from 2005 in cooperation with Stephan Schneider in KS Architects . From 1967 he taught as a lecturer at the Peter-Behrens-Werkkunstschule in Düsseldorf . Kalenborn's collection of plans was incorporated into the Archive for Architecture and Civil Engineering NRW .

Kalenborn was married to Margret Höhn (* March 12, 1930, † September 25, 2009). His grave is planned at her side at the north cemetery in Düsseldorf .

Honors

In 2008, Kalenborn was awarded the Rheinlandtaler for his services in the preservation of monuments.
