Heinz Kargus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinz Kargus (born January 22, 1900 in Aschaffenburg ; † January 10, 1987 ) was a German actor on the stage, film and television.

Live and act

Kargus received his acting training in Munich and made his theater debut in Schwerin. Other stage stations included Rostock, Nuremberg, Karlsruhe and Würzburg. At the end of the war, Kargus moved to Munich. There he worked at the Volkstheater from 1947 to 1951, and then went to the Kammerspiele there. Heinz Kargus also went on guest tours with piece contracts. His theater roles included mostly small roles in modern plays (old man in Patrick's Das Teehaus unter dem Augustmond , grandfather in Brecht's The Good Man of Sezuan , second actor in Pirandello's Six People Are Looking for an Author ).

Although he made his film debut before the end of the war in 1945, the artist did not appear regularly in front of the camera until shortly after the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany. Here you saw Kargus, who always seemed very serious, mainly in supporting roles of sedate characters: he played, among other things, a medical officer, a prison guard, a chaplain and a lawyer. Shortly after reaching the age of 70 and a small role in a production by Kammerspiele boss August Everding , Heinz Kargus retired from acting in front of the camera, but continued to stay with the Kammerspiele as a guest.
