Heinz Kattner

Heinz Kattner (born January 17, 1947 in Hildesheim ) is a German writer, lecturer, editor and editor.

Life

Heinz Kattner completed an apprenticeship as an insurance salesman after attending primary and commercial school. From 1965 to 1970 he worked as a commercial clerk in Hildesheim. During this time he was also active as a singer in the beat and rock band "The Ramblers" together with Jürgen Droste (drums), Günther Weser (rhythm guitar), Alfred Kogel (lead guitar) and Ulli Erdmann (bass).

After he had obtained the higher education entrance qualification on the second educational path, he studied from 1970 to 1973 pedagogy at the Pedagogical University in Hildesheim; he completed this study with the first state examination. At the same time he worked as a department head at the Hildesheim Adult Education Center until 1973. He then studied Protestant theology, literature and social science in Hildesheim and Bremen until 1980. During this time his first literary publications appeared.

In 1987 he was the founding initiator of the Lüneburg Literary Society, founded the Lüneburg Literature Office in the Heinrich-Heine-Haus in 1992 and managed it until 1994. He was a member of the Lower Saxony Literature Commission in the Ministry of Science and Culture from 1992 to 2000; as a member of the advisory board at the Lüneburg Literature Office from 1995 to 2007.

He works as an author, editor, editor and lecturer in Leestahl near Lüneburg in Lower Saxony . Since 1992 he has been teaching at the University of Lüneburg. Since 1980 he has worked as a lecturer in the education and training of theologians, authors, executives and students; since 2002 founding member and lecturer of Atelier Sprache eV in Braunschweig.

Heinz Kattner publishes poetry, lyric prose and essays. Since 1996 he has been a member of the PEN Center Germany .
