Heinz Lau (priest)

Heinz Lau (born October 2, 1950 in Thuine , Emsland) is a German Dehonian and Provincial of the Teutonic Order Province of the Sacred Heart Priests based in Bonn-Oberkassel .

Life

Lau attended the Leoninum grammar school in Handrup (Emsland), which is run by the Catholic Sacred Heart Priests , and where he graduated from high school in 1970. From 1971 to 1976 he studied philosophy and theology in Freiburg and took his religious vows in 1977 . A year later he received from Bishop Karl Gnädinger the priesthood .

As a representative for the promotion of young talent, he was from 1982 in the Sacred Heart Monastery in Martental , until 1991 also active as a youth pastor. He was the rector of the monastery from 1991 to 1993. After this time he headed the Freiburg monastery from 1993 to 1999 and became a novice master , in whose function he also went to India in 2004. After one and a half years, he was rector of the Neustadt monastery from 2005 to 2008, and since 2008 as novice master and training director in the monastery in Freiburg.

On October 6, 2015, the general government in Rome appointed Father Heinz Lau to be provincial after a four-month interim tour.
