Heinz Longerich

Heinz Longerich (born March 14, 1928 in Krefeld ; † April 18, 2020 ) was a German journalist.

After graduating from high school, Heinz Longerich worked for the British Information Service from 1947 to 1949 and then did an internship at the "Rhein Echo" in Düsseldorf until 1951. He then worked as an editor for various daily newspapers, became deputy editor-in-chief in 1965 and editor-in-chief of the Norddeutsche Rundschau in Itzehoe in 1967 . He held this position until his retirement in 1988. He also wrote a chronicle about Itzehoe, among other things.

The historian Peter Longerich is his son.
