Heinz Lothar Grob

Heinz Lothar Grob (born May 19, 1943 in Wanne-Eickel ) is a German business IT specialist .

After graduating from high school in Bochum in 1966, Grob studied business administration at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster in 1970 and graduated with a degree in business administration . In 1973 he wrote his dissertation on computer-aided pricing policy at the chair of Helmut Wagner, and in 1988 his habilitation on investment accounting with complete financial plans .

Grob has taught at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität since the establishment of the Institute for Information Systems in 1990, between 1994 and 1997 he was dean and vice dean of the Faculty of Economics, and from October 1998 to 2002 he was a member of the university's rectorate as vice-rector for planning, structure and building matters .

At the Institute for Business Information Systems, Grob held the Chair for Business Information Systems and Controlling . The chair primarily researches in the area of ​​complete financial plans and e-learning . As part of this research, the e-learning platform OpenUSS was developed, which is available under an open source license on Sourceforge. In addition, Grob works as head of studies at the Administration and Business Academy Ostwestfalen-Lippe in Bielefeld , and he is also a member of the board of directors of the European Research Center for Information Systems .

Grob retired at the end of the 2008 summer semester . After being taken over by Bernd Hellingrath, the chair was renamed “Chair for Information Systems and Logistics”.

Heinz Lothar Grob is married and has two children.
