Heinz Ludwig

Heinz Ludwig (born July 28, 1906 in Berlin ; † May 30, 1970 ibid) was a German painter , graphic artist and comic artist . He completed an apprenticeship as a set designer at the Friedrich Theater in Dessau. He then studied at the United State Schools for Free and Applied Arts in Berlin-Charlottenburg.

After his marriage in 1933 he moved to Königsberg / East Prussia. There he worked as a set designer and head of equipment at the opera house. Since 1935 he worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist in Berlin. He worked for various magazines, e.g. B. “The new line”, the “ Lustige Blätter ”, “Velhagen and Klasings monthly notebooks” and “Westermanns monthly notebooks”. In 1952 he moved from the GDR to West Germany , where he worked as a press illustrator for the daily newspaper “ Tagesspiegel ” and the magazines “ Merian ”, “Herren-Journal”, “ Deutschland Revue ”, “ Hörzu ” and “ Für Sie ”. Between 1963 and 1966 he drew a Mecki story every year .
