Heinz Meusel

Heinz Meusel (* 1932 in Berlin ) is a German sports scientist and university professor .

Life

Meusel was a professor at the Institute for Physical Exercise at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and in 1968 took up the post of Director of the Institute for Physical Exercise at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . In 1974 he took up a professorship for sports science in Giessen.

His main research interests included sport in old age, the didactics of physical education, game pedagogy, the concept of playing sports and the work of Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi and Hermann Röhrs from a sports pedagogical point of view.
