Heinz Pliska (born October 23, 1941 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a former German soccer player .

He began his career with the then second division club Eintracht Gelsenkirchen . In 1963 he moved to the Regionalliga West to the Sportfreunde Hamborn 07 . There he was used in 63 games in which he failed to score. He moved from Hamborn to FC Schalke 04 in 1965 after two regional league years .

In the summer of 1965, however, the traditional club was at the end of its game and not financially competitive. In the second year of the Bundesliga 1964/65 only the last place was achieved, only by increasing to 18 clubs one remained in the league. Top performers like Reinhard Libuda , Willi Schulz , Egon Horst , Waldemar Gerhardt , Willi Koslowski , Hans Nowak and good teammates like Heinz Crawatzo , Gyula Tóth and Manfred Berz left Schalke after this round of disasters. With the hard worker Fritz Langner as coach and ambitious players from the amateur camp, the class should still be maintained in the 1965/66 season. Among the newcomers, the 20-time amateur national player Gerhard Neuser was already the celebrity. In addition, the young Klaus Fichtel from Arminia Ickern should be a real stroke of luck.

But other players such as Josef Elting , the ex-Herner Alfred Pyka , who came through the TSV 1860 Munich station , and Heinz Pliska became regular players in this emergency community. The achievements of Manfred Kreuz with nine goals and Günter Herrmann with seven goals contributed not insignificantly to the success of relegation . In the end you could look forward to a saving 14th place. Pliska had played all 34 games this season.

The class could also be retained in the next two seasons, but no progress could be made out. Pliska continued to be part of the tribe during this time. But the last year turned into an "epidemic year" for him. One injury followed the other. Despite a contract until 1969, he fell out of favor with Schalke. They finally met again in front of the labor court, where their contract was terminated by mutual agreement. In the 1968/69 season he was no longer used at Schalke. After 75 Bundesliga games (2 goals), the Schalke 04 issue was over for him.

After finishing his active playing career, Pliska tied his shoes for Erle 08 before he went back to TuS Rotthausen as a player- coach. This was followed by coaching positions at the national league club SV Byfang (Essen), Rot-Weiß Leithe and DJK Eintracht Erle , before he had his last coaching position at Rot-Weiß Wacker Bismarck .

The trained shaper later worked for the Gelsenkirchen municipal utility for over 30 years and is now a pensioner.
