Heinz Sandrock

Heinz Sandrock (born September 17, 1909 , † September 13, 1990 ) was a German gymnast .

life and career

In 1915, Sandrock joined the Immigrather Turnverein (ITV) and in 1930 became a member of the German team of the German Gymnastics Federation .

He celebrated successes in 1933 as the German master on the horizontal bar .

In December 1933, in front of 10,000 spectators in Essen, he was the best individual gymnast in the Rhineland-Westphalia Gaukampf.

In 1934 he was at the gymnastics world championships in Budapest, tied with Georges Miez, vice world champion in this discipline and won the bronze medal with the German national team. In 1935 Sandrock became student world champion on the horizontal bar and in the twelve fight . He also took part in the gymnastics Reichsheer-Deutsche Turnerschaft in 1935 for the German Gymnastics Association . Due to illness, Sandrock decided not to attend the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin .

After the Second World War he could only act as a referee because he had lost an arm.

Sandrock was chairman of ITV Langenfeld and in 1979 became an honorary member of today's Langenfeld sports club .
