(...) It is not yet known how the two teams will be put together. The men's gymnastics supervisor of the DT, Schneider, who is the responsible leader of the fight, wants to represent the DT in the greatest possible fighting strength. (...) After all, you will be more or less on the right track if you think of the DT team as Winter, Sandrock, Beckert, Steffens, Polmar, Müller, Lorenz, but at least the same number or even more equal alongside them Gymnasts are available to choose from. The Reichsheer has its mainstay in the fighting game winner and German champion Schwarzmann, in addition to which the West German mare, Frisch, Klingenberg, the Hamburg Behrens and some other well-known forces come into question as further excellent experts, about which the supervisor of the Reichswehr team, Christel Strauch, still holds the veil of the secret. The competition began with the substitute for each team, followed by the gymnasts of the Reichsheeres and the German gymnasts in turn. The results were announced immediately after the exercise through loudspeakers and light letters to provide clarity about the current status of the competition. The German gymnastics newspaper emphasized that Schwarzmann, due to a lack of preparation time for a non-commissioned officer course and Sandrock, but also some other gymnasts, did not find their proven form due to the cold floor sports hall. Only two gymnasts, Schwarzmann in the horse jump and Steffens on the horizontal bar, achieved the full 40 points.

As expected, the DT team prevailed against the Reichsheer. Nevertheless, the gymnasts of the Imperial Army achieved some good results. So their overall result in the horse jump was better than that of the German Gymnastics Association and in the horse swing there was only one point missing to tie. The DTZ noted about the Reichsheer:

(...) According to Schwarzmann, the best of the soldiers was Füs. Fresh. Füs followed at a short distance. Stutte and Kan. Behrens. (...) "

The German gymnastics club prevailed in the final result with 993.9 points to 965.2 points.

The individual evaluation gave the following result (since the free exercise was not performed by all gymnasts, it was omitted for the overall individual evaluation):

The award ceremony was carried out by the Reichswehr Minister von Blomberg, who presented the winners with the wreaths. In his address, von Blomberg emphasized that one cannot speak of winners and vanquished because the performances were too great for that. He also expressed the wish that this competition would often be carried out in such harmony. Finally, Major General von Schomburg, on behalf of the Chief of Army Command, presented the members of both ranks with an etching of the Berlin memorial signed by General von Fritsch.
