Heinz Wrobel

Heinz Wrobel (born December 2, 1929 in Berlin ; † May 24, 2015 ) was a German television journalist and news anchor .

Heinz Wrobel began his journalistic career in 1947 as a spokesman for the radio news at Südwestfunk , for which he worked for 16 years. When the Second German Television (ZDF) started broadcasting in 1963, he worked in the daily affairs department and became the newscaster for the Today program on ZDF. He remained the spokesman for this program until January 1992, when he retired as the longest-serving news anchor for ZDF. In total he worked as a speaker for 45 years.

In a previous marriage, Heinz Wrobel was married to the ZDF announcer Mady Riehl .
