Mady Riehl

Mady Riehl , actually Helga Riehl , b. Weinert (born September 30, 1940 in Berlin ) is a German former pop singer , actress and television presenter .

Life

Mady Riehl grew up in Leipzig . In 1955 she moved to the Federal Republic . There she completed a commercial apprenticeship and took singing and speaking lessons for a year and a half. At the age of 17, she briefly tried her hand as a pop singer and later as an actress. In 1959 she made her debut as a film actress in the comedy And even cheeky ... , the following year she appeared in O sole mio under the direction of Paul Martin . After she couldn't really gain a foothold in the film business, the Berliner earned her living as a secretary.

In 1963 Riehl became one of the first announcers of the newly founded ZDF, alongside Victoria Voncampe and Renate Oelschläger . She was best known for the play show Dalli Dalli by Hans Rosenthal , in which Riehl was a member of the jury between 1971 and 1986 alongside Brigitte Xander and Ekkehard Fritsch (later: Christian Neureuther ). She became particularly well-known for her standard sentence "... unfortunately we have to deduct a point ...".

Mady Riehl was also active as a program announcer, from 1971 onwards on the Hessischer Rundfunk radio .

In addition to her work as a ZDF program announcer from 1986 to 1991, she also acted as a spokesperson for heute news.

In 2000 Riehl fell ill with cancer . The disease could be cured.

In her first marriage, Mady Riehl was married to her ZDF colleague, the news anchor Heinz Wrobel . From 1971 until his death in March 2015, she was married to the television journalist, screenwriter and director Hajo Schedlich . Today she lives in Mainz .
