The Heitkamp engineering and construction of power plants GmbH is a construction company and service provider in the construction industry with headquarters in Essen . The company has been a subsidiary of Renaissance Construction, Russia, since 2014.
history
Heitkamp was founded in 1892 as the civil engineering company E. Heitkamp and was continued from 1902 by Heinrich Heitkamp, the son of the company founder. In 1946 the meanwhile "E. Heitkamp civil engineering business in Wanne-Eickel "renamed the company in" Bauunternehmung E. Heitkamp GmbH ". In the 1950s, the company entered specialty mining, power plant and tunnel construction. Heitkamp received the largest single order for the complete structural work including two natural draft cooling towers in 1995 for the new construction of the Lippendorf power plant. In 1998, the order to build the world's highest natural draft cooling tower in Niederaussem (height 200 m) followed. In 1999 the companies “E. Heitkamp GmbH ”in Herne and“ Deilmann-Haniel GmbH ”in Dortmund to form“ Heitkamp-Deilmann-Haniel GmbH ”based in Herne. In 2005, the merger of the company's engineering departments resulted in "Heitkamp Ingenieur- und Kraftwerksbau GmbH". In 2008, "Heitkamp-Deilmann-Haniel GmbH" was renamed Heitkamp BauHolding GmbH after the inland mining activities were discontinued. Heitkamp BauHolding filed for bankruptcy in November 2011 and Heitkamp Ingenieur- und Kraftwerksbau GmbH was sold in January 2012 to Zech Bau Holding GmbH, a Zech Group company headquartered in Bremen. The majority of the company has been owned by Renaissance Construction Vienna since 2014, and Renaissance Construction AG was renamed Heitkamp Construction GmbH in 2015
Main areas of activity
The main areas of activity of the corporate group include the construction of power plants, nuclear power plants, cooling towers, industrial buildings, engineering structures, infrastructure measures and train stations. Tunnel construction projects and railway technology with slab tracks are also part of the work spectrum.
Power plant construction
By 2015, Heitkamp had built over 130 power plants in Germany alone, including conventional power plants, gas and steam power plants, district heating and combined heat and power plants, DeNOx systems, waste incineration plants and biomass power plants.
Heitkamp was involved in the construction of almost all German nuclear power plants. So in Germany z. B. built the nuclear power plants Philippsburg and Emsland . International commitment is evident in the construction of the new Olkiluoto nuclear power plant in Finland. Here Heitkamp built the main power plant building (turbine house), the pump house and various auxiliary reactor buildings.
The company has built over 100 cooling towers worldwide in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Turkey, South Africa, India, Australia, New Zealand and the USA. The types built include natural draft, hybrid, cell and fan cooling towers.
Cooling tower construction
Heitkamp Ingenieur- und Kraftwerksbau GmbH has confirmed the efficiency of cooling tower construction in around 100 projects in Germany and abroad. With the development of special construction methods, Heitkamp has the technical skills to create all types of cooling towers .
Building construction
The company offers the highest standards of execution in shell construction or turnkey projects through to building in existing buildings. Railway technology
