Hero of the Labor of the Russian Federation ( Russian Герой Труда Российской Федерации / Geroi Truda Rossijskoi Federazii ; scientific transliteration Geroj Truda Rossijskoj Federacii ) is a title that the President of the Russian Federation introduced on March 29, 2013 by Ukas No. 294 Award Hero of the Labor of the Russian Federation “introduced. It ties in with the tradition of the title hero of socialist work and is intended to honor “special work done before the state and the people”. In addition to a certificate, the bearers also receive a gold medal weighing 15.25 grams.

The first holders of the title Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation , to whom it was awarded by President Putin in Saint Petersburg on May 1, 2013 , are conductor Valery Gergiev , a neurosurgeon, a factory worker, a miner and a machine operator.
