Helen Hunt Jackson
Helen Hunt Jackson (born October 18, 1831 in Amherst , Massachusetts as Helen Maria Fiske , † August 12, 1885 in San Francisco , California ) was an American author . She also used the pseudonym H.HH
She is best known for her books A Century of Dishonor and Ramona , which deal with the situation of the Indians in the USA. A Century of Dishonor is considered to be the first non-fiction book to critically question American Indian policy . In Ramona , Jackson processed her impressions in a fictional manner.
