Helen von Münchhofen (born February 19, 1904 in Copenhagen , † 1956 ) was a Danish actress who mainly worked in Germany .

Live and act

Helen von Münchhofen came to Germany at an early age and became the mother of a daughter of the same name at the age of 20 , who was to work as a theater actress and voice actress after the Second World War . Born in Copenhagen, she made her début in front of the camera at the age of 21 with a tiny role in Fritz Lang's legendary silent film classic Metropolis . Numerous other film roles followed up to the end of the silent film era; Helen von Münchhofen was only seen once in German sound films (1930), alongside Anny Ondra .

After the seizure of power , the artist returned to her Danish homeland, played theater there and appeared in front of the camera for the last time in 1935 with a leading role in a film adaptation of a novel. After that, their track is lost. While her daughter Helen took on numerous theater roles in the Federal Republic of Germany after 1945, her mother can no longer be proven as an artist. She died in 1956. Her granddaughter Suzanne Doucet works as a singer and composer .
