Helena Corbellini

Helena Corbellini , full name Gloria Helena Corbellini Troche , (born January 7, 1959 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) is a Uruguayan writer and lecturer.

Corbellini successfully completed her literary training at the Instituto de Profesores Artigas (IPA) in 1982 . She was the editor of the Maldonado magazine Asterisco . As a culture journalist she worked for Zeta , El País Cultural , El País de los Domingos , La República and Brecha . She also worked as a columnist for the radio program Sopa de letras broadcast on CX26 SODRE .

Furthermore, she founded the literary workshop Pent House in Montevideo together with Elbio Rodríguez Barilari and was also involved in coordinating two other workshops (Talleres Literarios) - which she had been involved with since 1987. These were those of the Chamber of Notaries ( Asociación de Escribanos ) and the Casa de la Cultura of Maldonado. In 1999 and 2000 she organized the Tertulias Lunáticas poetry festival together with Elder Silva and Alvaro Echaider . At the beginning of the 21st century, she worked as a lecturer in literary theory at the Centro Regional de Profesores del Suroeste in Colonia .

Corbellini's literary work includes the two novels Laura Sparsi and La novia secreta del Corto Maltés , published in 1995 and 2000 . From the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) she was awarded the third prize of the National Prize for Storytelling in the Unpublished category for her short story book Pterodáctilos in 1999 and the second prize of the National Prize for Poetry for Círculo de sangre in 2000.
