Helena Jäderblom

Helena Jäderblom (born October 16, 1958 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish lawyer and judge at the European Court of Human Rights .

After studying law Jäderblom 1983 graduated from the University of Uppsala the title Master of Laws . In the same year she completed a course on maritime law at the University of Oslo . From 1987 to 1993 she was assistant judge at the Kammarrätt in Stockholm and the lower level Swedish administrative courts. From 1993 to 1994 she lectured on constitutional and administrative law at Stockholm University. She then worked in the Constitutional Law Department in the Swedish Ministry of Justice until 2003, most recently as its head. In 2002 she switched to the Department of Mercy Law and was also a member of various commissions on human rights. From 2005 to 2007 Jäderblom was a full judge at the Kammarrätt, and from 2007 presiding judge. In 2011 she became a judge at the Swedish Supreme Administrative Court . In June 2012 she was elected judge at the European Court of Human Rights as the successor to Elisabet Fura representing Sweden . She began her term of office, which actually lasts until 2021, on September 26, 2012. From February 1, 2017, she was President of Section III there, having previously been its Vice-President. However, she did not exhaust her term of office, but became a judge at Högsta förvaltningsdomstolen , the highest Swedish administrative court , in 2018 . Erik Wennerström was her successor .
