Helene Weinzierl

Helene Weinzierl (born December 5, 1963 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian dancer and choreographer . She currently lives in Salzburg.

Life

Helene Weinzierl trained as a dancer a. a. in Paris, Munich and Vienna. She was a dancer a. a. with Bruno Genty (F), Jean Yves Ginoux (F), Roxane Huilmand (B), Robert Wechsler (USA). 1995 she founded the cieLaroque / Helene Weinzierl , with which she has performed at numerous festivals in the USA, Japan, Russia and toured in Europe. She is currently also the artistic director of the per.form> d <ance festival in Salzburg / Austria.

In 1990 Helene Weinzierl founded the association tanzimpulse Salzburg , which annually organizes the international Easter and Autumn Dance Days in addition to the Salzburg Performance Days. Co-founder of the association tanz_house Salzburg, an association of choreographers producing in Salzburg in the field of contemporary dance.

Her company cieLaroque / Helene Weinzierl is one of the most touring ensembles on the Austrian dance scene and shows Helene Weinzierl's productions worldwide.

Some of her productions are characterized by the combination of dance, text and drama, while others are exclusively dedicated to the language of movement. In this context she worked u. a. several times with Bodo Hell (liquid underwear, Bon Voyage Gustave S.). In recent years, cross-disciplinary pieces and the use of video have shaped the company's work.

The first full-length piece of Tierra del Fuego based on texts by Marguerite Duras was awarded a prize in Germany. The systems <damaging> systems production as well as the solo production .... and the damage done are part of the Aerowaves program, initiated by The Place Theater in London . In addition, both productions, as well as the solo duo para ella >>> comida para dos and the new production 0-0-0> 5 were awarded prizes.
