Helga Böhnisch

Helga Böhnisch (born January 26, 1945 in Großschönau ; † June 15, 2014 ) was a German politician ( Die Linke ). She had been a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament since 2004 .

Life and work

After finishing school, she studied pedagogy in Leipzig from 1961 to 1964. She then worked as an educator and teacher until she finally became deputy director at a POS in Eisenhüttenstadt in 1976 . From 1966 she lived in Eisenhüttenstadt . From 1984 to 1988 she worked at the pioneer house in Eisenhüttenstadt. From 1991 to 1993 she trained as a social manager at the BIUW in Potsdam and worked as an ABM project manager in an international women's project until 1995. From 1995 until her election to the state parliament, she worked for a member of the state parliament.

She was separated from her husband and had two children.

In 1981 she became a member of the SED . From 2001 to 2003 she was deputy chairwoman of the regional association of the PDS .

In 1990 she was elected to the city parliament of Eisenhüttenstadt. She was a member of the district council of the Oder-Spree district and was a member of the budget and finance committee. In the 2004 and 2009 state elections , she was directly elected to the Brandenburg state parliament in the Oder-Spree II state electoral district. In the 4th electoral term (2004–2009) she was spokeswoman for her group for urban development, building and housing policy and a full member of the committee for infrastructure and spatial planning. In the 5th electoral term (since 2009) she was the spokesperson for gender equality and family policy and a full member of the Committee on Labor, Social Affairs, Women and Family.
