Helga Dostal

Helga Dostal , née Helga Bertz (born January 6, 1941 in Vienna ) is an Austrian theater scholar and former museum director of the Austrian Theater Museum .

Life

Helga Bertz graduated from high school in 1959. After studying interpreting (English), she went to the USA. She then completed a degree in theater and musicology , as well as psychology and philosophy , which she completed with a doctorate in 1971.

1960 to 1969 she was director and production assistant for television productions and worked in the press office for politics and economics of the control bank and the network. In 1974 she became a dramaturge at the rostrum , at the same time she was Secretary General of the UNESCO International Theater Institute .

From 1978 to 1980 she worked as a pedagogical assistant at the Ottakring Adult Education Center , then from 1980 as an employee of the Art Schools department in the Ministry of Science , from 1987/88 she took over the management of the department. In 1981 she passed the official examination at the Federal Chancellery . From 1999 until 2001 she was director of the Austrian Theater Museum.

Dostal is married to the dramaturge Franz Eugen Dostal .
