Helga Erny

Helga Erny , b. Klein (until 1952) (born August 15, 1931 in Mannheim ) is a former German athlete and Olympic medalist.

Life

Helga Klein, who started for SG Mannheim at the time, won second place in the 100-meter run at the German championships in 1952 . On June 15, 1952, it set the German record over 100 meters that had been in effect since 1935 in Karlsruhe with 11.8 seconds.

At the XV. At the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki she won the team silver medal together with her teammates Maria Sander , Ursula Knab and Marga Petersen , behind the team from the USA (gold) and ahead of the team from Great Britain (bronze). In the 200-meter run she made it to the final run, but had to be content with fifth place. Helga Erny was German champion over 200 meters in 1952 and 1953. In 1954 she reached third place at the German Championships over 200 meters.

Helga Erny had a competition weight of 55 kg with a height of 1.64 m.
