Helge Lund

Helge Lund (born October 16, 1962 ) is a Norwegian manager and chairman of the board of directors of BP since January 2019 .

Career

Lund attended the Norwegian Business School (NHH) in Bergen and also has an MBA from INSEAD in France.

He first worked as a political advisor to the Conservatives in the Norwegian Parliament and then worked as a management consultant at McKinsey , before joining Hafslund Nycomed in 1993, where he held the post of Managing Director of Nycomed Pharma AS from 1997 to 1998 .

In 1999 he moved to Aker ASA as Deputy Chairman and Chief Operating Officer , and in 2002, after their merger with Kværner, became Chairman of the Board of Aker Kværner .

Lund became Chairman of the Board of Statoil on August 15, 2004 and announced the merger with Norsk Hydro on December 18, 2006 . The merged company was then called StatoilHydro ASA .

From February 9, 2015 until the takeover by Royal Dutch Shell, Lund was CEO of the BG Group.

Lund lives in Bærum with his wife and two children.
