Heliamphora pulchella is a precarnivore plant species from the genus of the marsh jugs ( Heliamphora ). The species was only in 2005 based inter alia on herbarium firstdescribed and against the closely related minor Heliamphora discontinued.

leaves
The leaves of the plant are tubes 5 to 20 cm in size and up to 8 cm in diameter. The inside of the leaf is sparsely provided with bristly hairs that are up to several millimeters long. A helmet-shaped “lid”, up to 10 by 8 millimeters in size and with a short stem, sits on the edge of the hose.
blossoms
At the end of a 50 centimeter long stem there is a flower with a diameter of around 10 centimeters. It has four white to pale pink, oblong-lanceolate petals that are about five cm long and two cm wide. These include ten to fifteen stamens with three to four millimeters long anthers .
distribution
The species is found on several Venezuelan tepuis in the Chimanta region . It prefers full sun, occasionally flooded locations in shallow waters.
etymology
The name Heliamphora is composed of the Greek names for swamp and pitcher ; the epithet pulchella refers to the particular beauty of the species.
