Heller is a Serbian thrash metal band from Belgrade (then still the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ), which was founded in 1986, disbanded in 1993 and has been active again since 2013.

history

The band was founded in 1986 and consisted of guitarist and singer Ljubomir “Attila” Milojković, guitarist Zoran “Dane” Dankov, bassist Zoran “Deda” Miladinović and drummer Kosta “Kole” Bogdanović. Miladinović was to be replaced a short time later by Dejan "Čvora" Čvorović and Bogdanović was later replaced by Muller. In 1988 Senad "Žmegi" Prašović joined the line-up as a singer, so that Attila could fully concentrate on playing the electric guitar. In 1989 the first, self-titled album was released. The release followed many appearances, including as the opening act for Destruction . Due to the wars in Yugoslavia , it was not possible for the band to continue, so they broke up after a last demo in 1993. In 2005 Rock Express Records re- released the debut album, which includes the 1993 demo as a bonus. The band announced their reunion in 2013, toured in 2014 and performed at the Exit Festival .

style

According to a Myspace fan site, Heller is the first Serbian thrash metal band and one of the first metal bands in the country. The band's debut album is the first thrash metal album from this region. The lyrics of the album are all songs, except for Dead or Alive , in Serbian . There are four songs in English on the 1993 demo . According to thecorroseum.com , the first two songs, Inferno and Armageddon, are the most minimalist Thrash Metal the reviewer has ever heard. The style of the band is interesting and in a way also original. The song Inverzija offers memorable and heavy heavy metal and in Demoska Devojka an echo effect is used for the vocals. Grob Bez Dna offers music in the style of Sodom at the time of Persecution Mania . A comparison with Sodom is also obvious in the second half of the album. According to thethrashmetalguide.com , the band plays thrash metal influenced by the style of the San Francisco Bay Area . In addition, influences of classic heavy metal, are doom metal and the 11th-second song Adam I Eva also Grindcore heard.
