The Hellinikos Ichnilatis (Ελληνικός Ιχνηλάτης, Greek Hound, Greek Bracke ) is an FCI recognized dog breed from Greece ( FCI Group 6, Section 1.2, Standard No. 214 ).
Origin and history
The Hellinikos was created by crossing older Greek hounds , including the Kritos Lagonikos , with the Italian Segugio Italiano and the Jura hound . The breed was recognized by the FCI on October 16, 1959 as the only dog breed in Greece, at the request of the then Cynological Society of Greece. The Hellinikos Ichnilatis is quite rare even in Greece and rarely found outside of it.

The very persistent and robust dog grows up to 55 cm and weighs 20 kg. The short, thick hair is set off in black and tan . The hanging ears are set high.
use
The breed description praises the fine nose and the great resistance of the Hellinikos Ichnilatis. Alone or as a pack dog , he is very active when hunting and is suitable for any flat and even rocky, mountainous terrain. His voice is loud and melodious.
