The Jura hound ( French : Bruno du Jura ) belongs to the Swiss hound breed , a Swiss dog breed recognized by the FCI ( FCI group 6, section 1.2, standard no. 59 ).
History of the breed
This hunting dog originated centuries ago in the Jura , in the Swiss-French border area. Already in appearance it is closely related to the Hubertushund . He is one of the four Swiss hounds ( Chiens courants suisse; Swiss Hounds; Sabueso Suizos ) that have been grouped under one breed standard by the FCI, but are assessed separately at exhibitions . Brief description
As a breed variant of the Swiss hound, it corresponds to this in size (up to 59 cm) and weight (up to 20 kg). The ears are set far back, very large, heavy, folded and twisted. The hair is short, coarse and thick. The colors are typically tan with a black coat, sometimes with black clouds or black with fire.
