Hellmut Lützner

Hellmut Lützner (born January 9, 1928 in the Ore Mountains ) is a German doctor and author who developed a form of fasting named after him for healthy people, based on the principles of Otto Buchinger senior. (1878-1966) based.

life and work

Lützner studied medicine in Kiel and Munich and received his doctorate with a thesis on Kneipp as a science (Dr. med.). He then worked for seven years as a doctor in the former GDR, one and a half years as a country doctor. During his time as a doctor for naturopathic treatment in Dresden and East Berlin hospitals, he gained experience in the use of fasting as a therapy for the seriously ill.

In 1961 he returned to the Federal Republic with his wife and three children. This was followed by twelve years as a fasting doctor at the Buchinger Clinic in Überlingen / Lake Constance. After completing specialist training in internal medicine in Augsburg, Hellmut Lützner was the chief physician at the Kurpark Clinic in Überlingen from 1975 to 1992, which has become a model for modern classic naturopathic treatments.

In 1976 the Bayerischer Rundfunk television station broadcast a multi-part advisory program on the subject of fasting, in which Hellmut Lützner worked as a medical advisor. Hellmut Lützner then published the book “How newborn through fasting”; meanwhile a bestseller translated into 17 languages.

Hellmut Lützner lives in Überlingen and is active as a speaker and author.
