Helmfrid
Helmfrid OSB (* before 879; † December 6, 916 ) was Abbot of Fulda .
Even before 879, Helmfrid is documented as provost of the Fulda secondary monastery in Holzkirchen . In 915 he was elected abbot of the Fulda monastery . He immediately began repairing the monastery walls, which were probably destroyed during the Hungarian train , which was repulsed by his predecessor in the Fulda area in spring 915. For the Ratgar Basilica he had wheel candlesticks made of gold and silver for 70 candles and a precious cross with pearls and precious stones. He died in December 916 after only 17 months in office.
