Helmut Eichmeyer

Helmut Eichmeyer (born January 31, 1926 in Clausthal-Zellerfeld ; † November 20, 2013 ) was a German mining scientist and university professor.

Life

Helmut Eichmeyer studied mining at the Clausthal mining academy . After completing his studies as a Dipl.-Ing. and a job as a mining enthusiast in the Rammelsberg ore mine , he entered management positions at Preussag -Metall AG. On October 1, 1969, he accepted a call to the Technical University of Berlin as a full professor of mining science . In the academic self-government he held the offices of director, vice dean and dean for several electoral terms. From 1970 to 1974 and 1982 to 1984 he was 1st Vice President of the TU. He retired on April 1, 1992. His main research focus was the extraction of raw materials underground with special consideration of occupational safety, automation and communication.

Eichmeyer was the founding dean of Faculty 4, Environmental Sciences and Process Engineering, of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus . In addition, he was committed to establishing mining training in Ghana and Zimbabwe . He was the editor of Neuwertwirtschaft, a perspective for economics and ecology .
