Helmut Gassner

Helmut Gassner (born February 28, 1929 ; † 1990 ) was a German television and film architect .

Live and act

Gassner received his training at an academy of fine arts, class interior design. He was also practically active as a master carpenter. Working as a set designer and film architect since 1959, Gassner worked creatively on European and American productions (shot in Europe). Gassner worked a. a. with Fritz Umgelter , Rainer Werner Fassbinder , George Roy Hill , Klaus Emmerich , Rainer Erler , Michael Hausthar and Franz Peter Wirth . He was primarily known for his extensive buildings for Fassbinder's television series Berlin Alexanderplatz . Gassner lived in Egling .
