Helmut Kieruj

Helmut Kieruj (born September 16, 1950 ) is a former German football player. He played from 1968 to 1982 for SG Dynamo Eisleben in the second-rate GDR league .

Athletic career

Coming from the offspring of the SG Dynamo police sports club in Eisleben , Helmut Kieruj played his first three games in the GDR league in the 1968/69 season. From the next season he was part of the SG Dynamo player base, where he was used 89 times in the 102 league games played until the end of the 1972/73 season. In 1972 he and his teammate Frank Paluscak were the SG's top scorer with six goals, and in 1973 he was the sole top scorer with ten goals. 1973 Dynamo Eisleben was relegated to the Halle district league . With Kieruj, the team became district champions and immediately returned to the GDR league.

In the following three seasons up to 1977 Kieruj was missing only three point games and in 1976 was again Eisleben top scorer with eight goals. This was followed by three seasons by 1980, in which Kieruj had a total of 30 game failures and only found back to the old level in the 1980/81 season with only one game failure. In 1981/82 he was the fourth time top scorer at SG Dynamo when he scored nine goals.

At the age of 32, Kieruj went into his last GDR league season in 1982/83. He was used again in thirteen league games, but in which he scored no more goals. For the 1983/84 season he was still nominated for the GDR league team, but only played with the 2nd team in the district league. In his fourteen GDR league seasons Helmut Kieruj had played 245 point games and scored 60 goals.
