Helmut Kortan

Helmut Erhard Kortan (* 1928 in Linz ) is an Austrian restorer and university professor .

From 1965 to 1986 he taught at the Master School for Conservation and Technology at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . Together with Otto Wächter , he introduced an additional subject for paper restoration and established additional teaching positions for other subjects. He has been a member of the MAERZ artists' association since 1953 .
