Helmut Kromrey

Helmut Kromrey (born March 22, 1940 in Groß-Koschlau / East Prussia ) is a German sociologist . He is emeritus at the Free University of Berlin and has been professor at the Educatis University (Altdorf / Switzerland) since 2005.

Career

Helmut Kromrey studied economics and social sciences at the University of Cologne (Exam 1975:.. Dipl.-Volksw Sozialwiss direction) and was initially editor of a urban sociological research project, a research associate at the Department of Regional Planning of the University of Dortmund and Academic Council at the. Ruhr University of Bochum .

In 1978 Kromrey received his doctorate from the University of Dortmund. rer. pole. in spatial planning , obtained his doctorate and habilitation in 1987 at the Faculty of Social Science at the Ruhr University (habilitation thesis Social scientific accompaniment in the testing of new information and communication media. As a private lecturer, Kromrey led research projects in the areas of urban development , media , museums , further education , census , in particular evaluation of teaching, studies and further education. In 1991, Kromrey became an associate professor at the Faculty of Social Science at the Ruhr University in Bochum and, in 1994, professor for sociology and empirical social research at the Institute for Sociology at the Free University of Berlin. Kromrey has been retired since October 2004.

Helmut Kromrey was and is (2009) engaged in professional politics in the professional association of German sociologists , in the German Society for Sociology and as a co-editor of social sciences and professional practice as well as the journal for evaluation.
